Daniel Nelson, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Daniel Nelson was born and raised in Michigan and is now a registered architect in Chicago. He earned his Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degrees from Judson University, where he is currently an adjunct professor for a design studio.
Daniel enjoys focusing on the functional challenges and aesthetic considerations of any design problem he can get his hands on. He strives to create spaces that engage people in a special moment and provide a brief sense of wonder. He works for thoughtful, simple solutions that are clearly articulated and fitting for each project’s specific needs. Always trusting the power of the process, Daniel sees no step in the design process as mundane. Whether the project is large or small, public or private, expensive or cost effective, he finds relationships with teammates and clients to be at the heart of realizing a strong design solution.
In his free time, Daniel enjoys traveling to new places and making things – furniture, maps, home‐brewed beer, and more. He also runs and bikes to stay fit.
